Honeypot Cottage is a unique and delightful stone cottage which has recently been lovingly restored to a high standard in a palette of duck egg and soft whites. A Grade II listed building with its original beams, open fireplace, flagstone floors and a roll-top bath, this cottage oozes with character, sleeping 4 in 2 bedrooms.

The Cottage

Living Space

The living room is cosy and inviting with an open fire and wisteria peeping through the sash window. For entertainment there is a  TV with Freeview & DVD player, WiFi and an old treasure chest filled a selection of toys, board games, DVDs and books for all ages. There is also a bookshelf which houses a selection of novels and DVDs for all the family. You will also find ideas for family-friendly activities in the surrounding area in the Information Pack, including highlights and details of events in the week ahead.

The dining room seats 4, and a highchair is available if needed. All the floors downstairs are conveniently wipe-clean to make family meal-times easy. You can enjoy your breakfast listening to the iPod dock and radio.

The kitchen has fully equipped open shelves housing a range of white and blue crockery and an array of cooking utensils and equipment. There is also a dishwasher, microwave, fridge and freezer. The washing machine is in the separate downstairs toilet and utility area. Ecover products are provided for your use.

Upstairs

On the first floor you will find a double bedroom with a traditional cream bed bearing 600 thread count cotton bedding and fluffy white towels. A travel cot can be provided for the little ones.

The newly fitted bathroom includes a roll top bath and a separate shower cubicle.

The twin bedroom on the top floor has a small en-suite shower room and a stair gate for the safety of children staying. Original beams in this attic room gives it slightly restricted headroom; perfect for the kids! From this room, you can see the Purbeck countryside around you, with a glimpse of Corfe Castle itself. True Famous Five inspiration!

Outside

Out of the kitchen through the original Victorian door that leads out into the gravel garden where you can enjoy the country flowers and help yourself to herbs, whilst smelling the charcoal on the BBQ, relaxing on wooden garden furniture and enjoying the view of the countryside around you. The summerhouse is a great place to enjoy the garden in the warmer months of the year, or to find solace on the rainier days! Picnic-ware, binoculars and a cool-bag are provided for use outdoors or to take on your days out.

Through the wooden garden gate, you can hop and skip down a walkway straight onto Corfe Common, where Corfe Castle overwhelms the view. Dogs will love the freedom; children can let off steam and head towards the adventure playground in sight.

What a beautiful renovation! We enjoyed relaxing in the living room with a roaring fire going and having breakfast in the dining room, made all the better with the delicious marmalade (homemade!) that was left for us – very nice touch.Rachelle Trubey and friends
